After fifteen years, ellicom is excited to unveil its new and improved brand identity, which includes new colours, taglines and fonts. The purpose of this rebranding project is to better communicate the evolution of ellicom’s organizational DNA, new products and services, and to introduce our four factories to our customers: the Dream factory, the Solution factory, the Magic factory and the Success factory. This rebranding of our website signifies a change of direction and important strategic shift. From July 26 – 28, 2017 in San Jose, California, I had the privilege of presenting at one of the most prestigious conferences on AR, VR, and other alternate-reality technologies for learning and training purposes: Realities360 by the eLearning Guild. Realities360 breaks the usual presentation-awkward networking conference routine, and instead focuses on a true hands-on experience designed to challenge thought processes, immerse ourselves in disruptive technologies, and engage in conversations with some of the most brilliant minds in the industry. Virtual reality in education and training: Since the advent of virtual reality (VR), this type of sensory experience has promised even more motivating and engaging training programs by allowing learners to acquire knowledge through sight, hearing, and touch. 360° video exposes learners to content by allowing them to experience a physical environment or phenomenon. It can also be used to raise awareness of a cause or particular situation.
Download the White Paper below for more on 360° Video and stay tuned for an upcoming webinar! (more…)

Global Innovation Showcase to Unveil Seven Startups from Canadian Tech Accelerator
NEW YORK, NY – MAY 16, 2017 – The Canadian Tech Accelerator (CTA@NYC) will present the graduates of its fifteenth class at its Global Innovation Showcase, held at Grind West Street. This cohort class represents Canadian-founded companies entering the U.S. marketplace across the artificial intelligence, holography, retail, virtual reality, education, and media industries. The keynote address will be given by Alex Ibrahim, Head of International Markets at the New York Stock Exchange, who had a key role in the IPOs of Canadian companies Canada Goose and Shopify.
A new organizational structure
Building on fifteen years of providing unmatched e-learning and training services, ellicom is reorganizing its structure to improve agility and efficiency, simplify internal processes, and increase support towards its rapidly growing local and international clientele.
Changes to the operations division
It is in this vein that ellicom welcomes Mélanie Gauthier as incoming VP Production. Ms. Gauthier holds over 20 years of experience in e-learning, operations and management, primarily in the health care and education industries, producing over 2000 e-learning programs. Prior to joining ellicom, Ms. Gauthier worked as a producer, project director, and as Senior Director of Operations in the IT and pharmaceutical industries.
Later on, Ms. Gauthier went on to launch her own partnership venture with Taimma Communications Inc., for which she was in charge of managing all projects and overseeing production. During her time at Taimma Communications, Ms. Gauthier took on the global market by expanding projects through their global offices in Germany, Singapore, Brazil, Israel, England, Switzerland, and the Nordic countries.
As she states, “Firstly, I want to apply my management skills and experience to best serve the needs of the department and the company. Secondly, I would like to mentor others in developing their respective roles in a creative, friendly and innovative workplace based on mutual respect. My ultimate goal would be that my team achieves a meaningful experience under my leadership at ellicom.”
Ms. Gauthier’s remarkable career path and expertise in global e-learning management make her the ideal candidate to lay the foundations for long-term success, and to maximize ellicom’s potential to compete with global leaders in the training industry.
Ellicom has the honour to announce its acceptance to the Canadian Technology Accelerator Initiative in New York City (CTA @ NYC) for 2017. This five-month intensive program allows several hand-picked, fast-growing Canadian technology companies to better access the American market. New York City is increasingly taking centre stage as a hotbed for Internet-based technology entrepreneurship.
From January 25 to 27, Ellicom will make its way to Palm Beach Gardens as laureate, exhibitor, and sponsor of the Human Capital Management Excellence Conference 2017, organized by Brandon Hall Group.
Ellicom will have the honour of receiving two distinctions: Route Measurement Officer Learning Program, designed in collaboration with Canada Post, will take home a Silver Award in the category of Best Learning Program Supporting a Change Transformation Business Strategy, while Operation: Zero Blackout, designed in collaboration with Hydro-Québec, will walk away with a Bronze Award in the category of Best Use of Games and Simulations for Learning.
“Operation: Zero Blackout”, the training program developed by Hydro-Québec and Ellicom, was recognized not once, but twice at the Canadian Awards for Training Excellence held last week in Toronto by the Institute for Performance and Learning (IPL). This prestigious event is a competition between the major achievements in the training industry on a national level, and recognition at this event is highly valued amongst our peers in the industry.
